I arrived at TPHS in 1963 (second form) fresh from the USA attired in my sports jacket, slacks and white socks. I was given one week my Mr McPherson to front up in full school uniform — or else...! Shakespeare, rugby and Cliff Richard were all new to me — it was quite a culture shock! After school I studied law at the ANU and graduated in 1972. I have since worked as a lawyer with the Federal and ACT Governments and am presently Registrar of the ACT Supreme Court. I married in 1975 (a northside girl, Anne). We have four kids, two boys and two girls ranging from 7 to 17 years. My sporting interests have focussed mainly on long distance running. I participate in fun runs, love the 'City to Surf' and have run about 20 marathons (42.2k – PB: 2.27.51). My next running challenge is to run in the Brindabella Classic on 9 November which is 54k of difficult terrain. I'll let you know at the reunion how I went — if I survive! I'm looking forward very much to the reunion and to catch up with 'old' friends. Many of us are now older than our parents were, and have children older than we were when we graduated from TPHS — a sobering thought. Life, let's get on with it! See you all at the next reunion — the 60th??? Back to 'Report Cards' |
