Left school in ’67 — poor results in HSC!

Two years in banking — teller at ANZ in Civic.
-
Joined PS and successfully re-sat HSC at Night School.

Spent next 7 years with Overseas Trade as Paymaster then later as a
clerk — not my scene at all!

Always interested in things mechanical and resigned to establish a new vehicle
franchaise at Ballina NSW.

Married in 1973 — 2 sons (now 20 and 22).

Ballina proved to be a bad move — slowing economy of the late
70’s — high interest rates and bad debts resulted in 'financial
ruin' and marriage failure — fortunately we parted (though
reluctantly on my part) on very good terms and are still in regular
contact and have both re-married (daughter 9, son 11).

Worked for a while on a trawler as a diesel fitter cum 'deckie' until
a 30 hour storm 'cured' me!

Returned to Canberra in early 80’s again working in motor trade —
many years in the Automotive Auto Electrical trade.

Still contentedly in the trade — great hours 8–4.

Enjoy motorcycling (having owned around 40) currently owning a Ducati,
a Benelli and a Yamaha.
