Dear Jim,
haven't had any news from you since a long time. I hope everything is ok! I retired from my job by the end of DEC 2009, from AUG 09 until FEB 10 I received a chemotherapy treatment for intestinal cancer and have pretty much recovered since then.
I would love to hear from you and all the others.
Please mind my new email adress: Reitbauer3@gmx.at

Kind regards from Vienna
Michael

Hi Jim and everyone. I was so sorry to have missed the last reunion, but was overseas at the time. Just a little of what I have been up to since leaving school. HSC in 1967 and again in 1968 when I decided I had better do a bit of work. After that I went to Newcastle Teachers college for a year, then to Uni of NSW. I becamea Christian in my first year and for the first time in my life actually found meaning and peace. Really big words for me. Worked for the NCDC in Canberra as a Sociologist for a while and then went to Adelaide and spent the next five years as a Medical Social worker in the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Real reason for going to Adelaide was for training with the Christian organisation I became a believer through. They are mainstream, not wackey. I have actually worked with them ever since, some thirty eight years now. Along side this I also work in private practice as a Counsellor dealing with marriage, adictions, sexual abuse etc. I also head up Staff Care and Development for The Navigators (Christian organisation) here in Australia but am now heading to the US for the next five years (two months home each year) to work more with our international staff care team. The other part of me is that I am married to Helen, have five children, (four of whom are married) and five grand children. Having a personal relationship with God gives even greater meaning in these latter years. Life has certainly had it's challenges but continues to be exciting.

Hi xTelopeans. Found the site after a brotherly referral, and it rekindled a few memories - but I think I've forgotten far more as one of the last "Leaving Certificate" alumini. Lost contact with everyone over the years so pleased to see some links to the past have still been maintained.

Dear Jim,
I am Ishak Ahmad, who was in Telopea from 1965 till 1968. Today 04/04/09 I suddenly thought about Telopea n went online n read about the 2007 reunion of 1967 students, what surprised me most was the photo of 1967 soccer team which i was a part of. All this while i never knew that i was part of Telopea's history! Thanks Jim, i am truly overwhelmed. 1969 i was at University of Newcastle n left for home late 1971, n went to New Delhi soon after. In 1973 I came back home from India to join the insurance industry as an underwriter, for 10 years, before moving to something else, and now retired. Syed Mokhsain is another ex-Telopea(class of 68) from KL that i keep in touch with. Jim,the unknown soccer player in the photo is the late Urfano Haznam of Indonesia.

I also was a 1968 graduate but I remember many of the 1967 people. I went on to study the Diploma of Music at the Canberra School of Music (never completed it), moved to Adelaide, moved back to Canberra, met John Gyffyn (who was married to Deborah Price at the time), John and I eventually got married and had 34 exciting years together before he passed away 4 years ago. We had a recording studio, a computer business and then a software company. We had a daughter, Fyonna, who is now 33, married and has two children of her own!

I have located Teresa Woollcott who was my best girlfriend for the first few years of high school before she left in 1966.

I remember Mrs Thompson as the BEST teacher I'd ever had. She taught English and she was inspirational. I will never forget her.

This web site is a real pleasure.
I am a 1968 graduate of Telopia. Therefore much younger than the people shown here.
The Telopia dispora have gone a long way. I was pointed to this site by Fred Schodt's brother David whom some of you will remember. Fred is a write of international repute now living in San Francisco.

I hope somebody will start a Telopia68 site. Failing that, I have some Telopia memorobelia that I maby be able to scan and send.

Many geate memories of Telopia, thank you.
Richard
