Reflections

With mixed emotions
I read the list.
A gasp, a tear,
For one’s held dear.

Joy and laughter
Followed on.
Memories lingered,
With visions strong.

Friends to hug.
Stories to tell
Of days gone by,
And futures beheld.

Sorrow, joy, anger, pain
We’ve all lived
And loved
Along memory lane.

A little longer
(Maybe a lot!)

I’ll need the lot.

The wrinkles, the weight gain,
The ravages of time,
All etched in our faces,
Like a meridian line.

Grandmothers, Grandfathers,
Mums and Dads,
Bring all your photos
And show you’re glad.

Thankyou to all
The ‘eclectric’ mix,
Without you I’m sure
The date wouldn’t have fixed.

See you all at the school
At five.
Just be brave
And not one of you hide!!
