Employed in Health and Immigration doing the PS rounds from 1968–1975, travelling to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, hitting the surf, the beaches, the parties, playing football, cricket and squash, and falling in love every six or eight weeks. Moved to SA, and married in 1976. Undertook tourism studies, and ended up Manager of the SA Travel Centre,as well as lecturing at TAFE and the Tourism College. Moved to Singapore early in 1985 to set up and manage the SA Governments Asian office. Involved in tourism, product launches, mega parties, golf days, and club life complemented hard work and long hours. It took its toll — returned to Australia, and divorce, in 1992. Set up an export unit for the SA Government that lasted 2 years, joined the Adelaide Casino, returned to Singapore, then left for Christmas Island for 12 months. Missing the kids (boys 19 and 17), decided Adelaide was it, and as Director of Marketing for a Resort and Convention complex, am finally settled into normality. A young fiancée ensures my age can’t catch up with me, and food, wine, sun, work, kids, and maintenance rule my life. Some things are impossible to forget — school football and cricket teams, the headmasters office, Manuka Swimming Pool, Stanko’s parties, ski trips, and some ladies names — you know, but I can’t divulge — oh yes, and Mr McNab.
